If we are going to change the world in ways that empower every human being to make a difference, then it seems pretty certain that social entrepreneurs and their networks will be there to help and guide us. Uniquely, this is an method that has emerged from the grassroots of all the world's regions criss-crossing cultures and other borders - with Bangladesh contributing two of the world's currently most valued social entrepreneurial changes - microfinance 1 2 3 and the world's largest citizen organisation 1 2 3 . If there is any way we can help people in Pakistan explore where social entrepreneurs have already discovered ways of improving humanity's lot in many of the most challenging arenas of life on this earth, please do tell us.

Google melted 100 macrae.net blogs down 9 dec 2005 ; this jumble is what's left of the past (apologies if stuff dated 2005 and earlier contains missing links); let's see if we can value a new future 1 2 3

I note -- A member of the Saudi royal family
has donated $20 million to Georgetown University for the study of
Islam. http://www.nbc4.com/education/5523584/detail.html

Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal told The Washington Post the image of Islam has been
tarnished since the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. He is also donating $20
million to Harvard University for the same cause.

The gift is Georgetown's second-largest donation ever. Officials said the
Jesuit-run university will use the money to expand its 12-year-old Center for
Muslim-Christian Understanding.

The center will be renamed the Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Center for Muslim-
Christian Understanding.

Although I know some folk at Georgetown which is not far fron where I am
typing this, I dont know the people at this centre nor what sorts of research
they are chanelling. It might be worth taking a look at to see if any of the
urgent issues you see, could at least be posted to these folk

cheers
chris

Can we start listing other east-west spaces for conversation:
I am hopeful of Qutopia one day since I know the guy who's life's mission it is and he knows all about clean energy architecture which starts in 2006 as Britain's (and Canada's) gift to the world, and emerges here 1 2
